Come through our doors to find everything you need to keep your pet blissfully happy, vigorously healthy, fully entertained, and looking absolutely fabulous! For safety’s sake, we are staffed 24 hours a day and the facility is monitored around the clock by fire and smoke detectors with an automatic sprinkler system in place.
Are you traveling? Perhaps our boarding facility will give you the piece of mind that you are looking for. Is Fido looking a bit shaggy? Our certified groomer, offering everything from a touch-up to a full makeover will make him look and feel better than ever. Has Patches packed on some pounds? The Pet Wellness Center can design a weight loss and exercise plan to regain a fit and trim waistline. Long days at the office? Our Day Care Center will ensure that your pet’s days are filled with fun.

Staff
Mr. Brian McKenna, LVT, BS, Director, graduated from Farmingdale University where he received his Associates of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. He then attended Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Mr. McKenna spent several years in the triage department of emergency centers in the tri-state area. He became the senior operating room technician at Island Veterinary Referral in Levittown, NY and worked closely with Dr. Dominic Marino for many years. Mr. McKenna served as the operating room supervisor with the Department of Surgery at Long Island Veterinary Specialists where he directly supervised all high-risk surgical cases as well as, coordinated the day-to-day functions of the surgery department. He served as the assistant hospital administrator for several years and was instrumental in the management of the day to day operations of the hospital. Mr. McKenna is the current hospital administrator at Long Island Veterinary Specialists and the Director of the pet wellness center.
Danielle Austin has a unique animal sense that has served her well while working in the veterinary field for almost two decades. She has worked as a veterinary assistant at several Long Island veterinary hospitals including North Shore Animal League, America in Port Washington, and Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview. Danielle received a certificate in both beginner and advanced grooming from Bellport Technical School in Bellport, Long Island. Danielle continued her studies at the nationally recognized Pennsylvania Academy of Pet Grooming in Indiana, Pennsylvania were she was certified as a Master Groomer. Danielle’s love of animals and dedication to her profession is evident in her daily work.
Erik Kessler, APCT, attended Flushing Volunteer EMS training and was certified by New York State as an EMT. He then attended Suffolk Community College where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Finance. Erik’s love of medicine and animals brought him to Long Island Veterinary Specialists, where he did rotations with the Oncology department, Internal Medicine department and the Dispensary. Erik joined the staff of the Pet Wellness Center and continued his education with the American Boarding Kennel Association where he studied personnel management, business development and advanced insights into pet care. He received his certification as an Advanced Pet Care Technician. Erik is presently attending classes to receive his Kennel Operator certification.
Giuliana G. Marzot, LVT, CCRP attended Quinnipiac University with a major in Veterinary Technology, and was graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then joined Long Island Veterinary Specialists surgery department, where she spent several years caring for post surgical patients. Giuliana was then promoted, taking on the position as the Dispensary Supervisor at Long Island Veterinary Specialists. There she developed her managerial and organizational skills handling the central supply for the entire hospital. Giuliana has a special interest in the rehabilitation of neurological conditions and recently trained at the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy She is one of only a handful of Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in the region.
